Baltimore Area Intergroup

Who We Are
The Baltimore Area Intergroup is a group of OA members who seek a simple but more challenging level of service to help our affiliated meetings in the Baltimore metropolitan area.  Our Intergroup presents recovery workshops, produces the Steppingstone newsletter, serves as a liaison between groups and Region Seven and the World Service Office, and reaches out to the community to offer the hope of recovery from compulsive overeating.

All Are Welcome to Join
Every OA member is welcome to join us at Intergroup meetings, either as a representative of their home group (or “home meeting”) or to learn more about the opportunities for service that help us grow as OA members.

Why Go to Intergroup?
If you think Intergroup is only for bylaw geeks, it is far from it!  There are all kinds of opportunities to perform service such as helping to plan an event, writing an article for the Steppingstone, or participating in outreach to current members as well as the general community. Another great way to join the fun and be of service is to become an Intergroup Delegate for your meeting. After all, a meeting without an Intergroup Delegate is untethered and disconnected from the OA community.

We have found that when we perform service, no matter how large or small, we help not only other members and our fellowship but discover that our desire to overeat or eat compulsively is significantly diminished.  Don’t miss out in this golden opportunity!

There are clear benefits to being of intergroup service that help not only our fellowship and meetings but to you, as an individual member.  View The 12 Concepts of OA Service.
